Very well placed. Very handy to buses& rail. Lots of cafes very close. Supermarket 12mins walk away. All clean & well stocked when we arrived. You have to ask for 2nd passkey if you need two. Theres a $30 fee if you lose them, according to the compendium in our room. Was supposed to get email of passcode for contactless checkin b4 2pm on day of arrival, but never came & only got voicemail when I phoned at 1:55. Turned up at door at 2:15 & reception (which is only manned till 3pm daily) gave us our key as though this is the usual procedure (ie just turn up). In order to get to garden studio, you go through the house & out the back. This is very handy as we were able to use the toilet there when our studio ensuite was occupied. You are also allowed to use the the communal kitchen if your kitchenette doesn't have what you need to cook for a meal. There is also a coin operated drink/snack machine in the communal laundry. In the garden studio, both the double bed & single sofa bed were comfortable. There were only 2 plastic stools & a side table in the studio, but it was easy to step outside our door & use the tables & chairs in communal covered courtyard. Kitchenette well stocked with lots of teas& coffee bags, peanut butter/honey/vegemite individual serve packets. MW,sink & portable hotplate. (Can use oven in main kitchen if needed). Plates, cutlery, sharp knives, frypans, glasses. Teatowel, plastic wrap, papertowels. No place to leave dishes to dry, unless you use the stock of wettex to lay first. May have found a tray in main kitchen, but I didn't look. Bar fridge was stocked with carton of milk, container of white bread, tub of vegan margarine. Lcd tv on wall near double bed. Full length mirror in studio. Newly renovated bathroom. And the toilets in main house also renovated.  Ensuite small but adequate with glassed shower, free standing porcelain sink with shelf& mirror above.

I recently stayed at Dalziel Lodge for a business trip. Located in the quiet backstreets of North Sydney, this is a heritage lodging with comfortable rooms, excellent amenities and really well positioned. Expect your room to be cosy, quiet, comfortable and safe. Shared shower / toilet amenities. A well appointed shared kitchen and dining hall. A short walk to the new Metro Station at Victoria Cross. A pub very near by. Cafe Vento just a block away. Ramen, Korean, Vietnamese eateries near by. A short walk to Woolworths, Aldi. And for me just a short walk to Crows Nest where I had to be for work. I like this location heaps better than the overcrowded, noisy and busy Sydney CBD. This is exceptional value for accommodation.

The beds at Dalziel are super comfortable. I've stayed 3 times now and the beds are always terrific. The rooms and common areas (kitchen, outdoor area, dining area) are always clean and neat. Check-in is flexible and easy. Luggage can be left before check-in if the front door is open and can be left after check-out. (Arrangements can be made for just a front door pass). Access to public transport and essentials is fabulous! For a supposedly 2-star accommodation, everything is really good! I think Dalziel could easily qualify as a 3-star establishment.

The Lodge was in a perfect location for us- just 5 minutes easy walk for our son's place. Also 5 minutes from Mater Hospital! The place was very clean, and they seemed to have thought of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The staff although not as always on site are contactable and helpful. I helped a lady contact them when she locked her keys and phone in her room, and they could readily provide the new key. When my husband did the same thing, he also got a new key provided...all without anyone saying you idiot!

Love the location, relaxed feel and facilities (kitchen, dining area and outside area) of Dalziel. I met some really interesting people during my stay, so there was a social aspect too. Everywhere was spotless and the other guests respected this and kept kitchen and bathrooms clean and tidy. The beds at Dalziel are really comfortable and the linen and towels are quality standard. The bedrooms are quiet. The airconditioning works well in the bedrooms. The showers are always hot with good pressure
